Assistant Professor of Dermatology
Dr. Scott Carrizales is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Washington University School of Medicine. He graduated from The University of Texas in Austin and earned his medical degree at The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. Dr. Carrizales completed a family medicine residency and served as a staff family physician in the Air Force, stationed in Florida, Korea, and Texas prior to finishing a second residency in dermatology through the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium.
Before joining the Washington University staff, Dr. Carrizales served as flight commander for the medical services flight at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He was in charge of several specialty clinics including allergy and immunizations, cardiovascular, and internal medicine, as well as serving as Chief of Dermatology. He also enjoyed teaching dermatology to family medicine residents and students. His clinical interests include all aspects of dermatology, including skin cancers, pediatric dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and global medicine. He recently completed a humanitarian medical mission in Guatemala. He is certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Carrizales, together with his wife, Tonya, and 3 boys, Austin, Josh, and Riley, are all avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fans!
Dr. Carrizales provides patient care at the Washington University Dermatology - St. Peters location.
