Dr. Sheinbein received his MD degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1995, and completed both his Medicine Internship and Dermatology residency at Washington University, Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Dr. Sheinbein joined the faculty of the Division of Dermatology in July 1999 and has a very busy clinical practice at the Washington University West County Dermatologic Outpatient Clinic. He has taken an active role in the teaching of Dermatology outside of our Division. He is a lecturer for the CME/review course within Internal Medicine and routinely has Medicine residents rotating through his clinic to continue his teaching role. He is also the coursemaster for the second year medical students of Washington University School of Medicine.
His dermatology interests include the diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting with complex problems such as bullous and cicatricial pemphigoid, pemphigus, connective tissue disease, and early detection and treatment of skin cancer. He also enjoys working with the trainers of both the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams to manage the dermatologic problems of their players, coaches and staff.
