History:

A 55-year-old African-American male with no significant past medical history presented in November 2002 with complaints of an enlarging umbilical mass of six months' duration. He had associated discomfort and tenderness in that region of his abdomen.

Physical Examination:

5-cm ulcerated, indurated, tender, periumbilical tumor (Figs 1 and 2). No lesions elsewhere on total body skin examination.
