Our training programs offer a variety of clinical and scientific opportunities for motivated learners seeking to grow in an innovative environment.

Focused on the integrated missions of patient care, research and education, we are committed to the development of outstanding clinicians, academicians and researchers in dermatology.

Residency program

Our highly-competitive and nationally recognized residency program offers physicians broad experience in all aspects of dermatology, from a busy clinical service to a number of research opportunities. Residents train in a supportive environment designed to help each resident reach their goals.

For combined MD/PhD applicants, we participate in the Physician Scientist Training Program (PSTP), which consists of a PGY-1 year at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital followed by training in clinical dermatology and dedicated research time in a Washington University laboratory.

Fellowship programs

Research fellowships are available for individuals interested in beginning or continuing research training after residency. Additionally, three clinical fellowships are available for board-certified/board-eligible dermatologists:

Medical student education

Our faculty and residents also participate in educating Washington University medical students through core curriculum and extracurricular programs. Research opportunities for medical students are also available through the Division.
